What We Do
Most people relate chiropractors to bad backs and neck pain, headaches, shoulder and knee pains and yes we do help with these conditions but chiropractic has so much more to offer.
Chiropractors are the spinal health experts, meaning we focus on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine and pelvis) and function ( as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship influences your health and wellbeing.
Chiropractic is a health care discipline based on the scientific principle that the body is self healing ( when we cut ourselves, the body is able to heal and repair itself) and self regulating ( eg.our heart beats, our lungs breathe, our body temperature self regulates). These essential functions are controlled by a master system, the nervous system( the brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of the body). These important structures are protected by the skull and spinal column. The 24 movable bones of the spine and sacrum protect the intricate communication pathways of the spinal cord and nerve roots, so if there is an interference (subluxation) with these neural pathways, tissue and/or organ impairment may occur. As a family based chiropractor I see people of all ages from babies to the "mature" aged. I offer help to a range of conditions including colic, reflux and ear infections in babies, to learning challenges, "growing" type pains in children, to postural/ extremity pains in adolescents as well as conditions such as back/neck pain, headaches and migraines you may typically associate with chiropractors.
